WE ARE GETTING PREPARED...

DEAR FAMILY & FRIENDS : WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!

It is almost THE DAY..
And for those who haven't followed this adventure from the beginning I will give a small summary:
It started with us both becoming 50 this year. And with unfortunate news that little Tien needed a second heart surgery (Little Tien is the daughter of one of our factory employees who is born with a heart disorder). We decided to donate our birthday presents to this cause but this being far from enough, the idea grew to undertake something more substantial. Peter's vague dream to bicycle from BK to HCMC was all of a sudden reality.
almost a Blog expert
We fundraised at/since our birthday party 43.000.000 vnd (ca 2070 USD), although many of you didn't want to donate until Peter proved to commit to the challenge.

So here we are.
While I improved my IT skills making this Blog, Peter and Simon went today to Singapore to buy a brand new bike - not with your money of course! Actually the bike is sponsored by Peter's beloved grandmother.

But there is more great news to report. At our party we were offered the chance for a third opinion from the heart surgeon at the SOS Clinic. This was most welcome since the two doctors we consulted beforehand didn't agree about the time schedule of little Tien's 2nd surgery.  So we went last 16th March and guess what? She doesn't need a second surgery at all ! Great news indeed as a 2nd surgery involved much higher risks and another child will now benefit from this project.
So we contacted Heartbeat Vietnam, an organization we are quite familiar with due to our involvement with the Charity Bazaars @ The Deck. They will support this project with media and their network of sponsors. Next week we'll have a meeting to discuss the details...
